Vision Statement

  • To improve the quality of life for people with communication disorders.
  • To prevent the occurence of these conditions through professional speech/language pathology services.
  • To promote effective communication skills so that individuals may reach their maximum potential within their environment.

Our History

Origin
The idea for a Center to treat communication disorders originiated from a health needs survey conducted by the Danville Jaycees in 1959.

Beginning
Danville Speech and Hearing Center opened its doors in 1961 in two rooms of the Health Department building. (Corner of Main and Rison St. in Danville, VA where a medical office now sits.)
